          Philippines Coal Giant Plans to Build a Coal-fired Power Plant of 1.1 Million Kilowatts

          Philippines Coal mining and energy giant Semirara mining and energy company plans to build 1.1 million kilowatts of coal-fired power plants in the next three to four years.
          According to reports, the company's CEO Isidro Consunji said the company plans to first build a power plant of 700,000 kilowatts and started trial operation of a power plant of 300,000 kilowatts in Luzon at the end of the year.
          Consunji noted that the company also hopes to expand its scale of power generation, and is responsible for the supply of these coal power plants. To meet the surge in demand for electricity, the Philippines is considering speeding up the construction progress of coal-fired power plants  in development phase.
          The annual production of Semirara company is about 8 million tons of coal, which is exported to China. However, in order to support local power generation business, the company has suspended exports to China.
          After the earthquake in the central region of the Philippines, Semirara company shut down the  coal mine in this area, and currently is considering developing new coal mines here again.
          New mines is expected to achieve full capacity in 2016. The company also strives for the development of the third coal mine.
